Violet Carol Weinreis, age 84, of Beach, North Dakota, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota on Thursday, August 28, 2003.

Violet Carol Anthony was born on September 19, 1918, a daughter of Charles and May (Keller) Anthony. She was born at the family home four miles east of Golva on what was called the Cook place. Her formal education began with first grade at Burkey Country School and was completed in 1936 when she graduated from Beach High School. On June 24, 1942 she married Lloyd Weinreis in Carlyle, Montana. Together they raised their large family on the farm and ranch south of Golva.

Violet's days were filled tending to the needs of her children and dealing with the many tasks of a farm wife. She spent many long hours in her large gardens and in the kitchen canning and cooking. Violet was well known for her generous hospitality and delicious meals.

Lloyd and Violet purchased their home in Beach in 1989 which brought more opportunities to spend time with her growing family. She thoroughly enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, especially Upwords, Bump and SkipBo. Quilting with the women of the Evangelical Church was another of her favorite pastimes. She created many memories by holding an annual family campout in her backyard. Also, celebrating Christmas was a highlight of the year as the house overflowed with family, gifts and laughter.

Violet will be remembered for her soft-spoken manner and gentle spirit. Violet moved to her heavenly home on August 28, 2003 at the age of 84.

Violet is preceded in death by: husband, Lloyd Weinreis; parents, Charles and May Anthony: one brother, Charles Anthony and two great grandchildren, Dustin Weinreis and Trista Irwin.
