Medical Doctor/Pioneer, Philanthropist. Chief of Plastic Surgery at NYU Medical Center, he was a world-renowned plastic surgeon specializing in craniofacial reconstructive surgery. He created many pioneering techniques in surgery, some of which bear his name. Having witnessed the suffering of those with facial deformities, he established the National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction. Assembling skilled craniofacial teams, their mission was to support and treat patients with craniofacial deformities regardless of severity or financial concerns.
