Richard was a graduate of Syracuse University and served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He left New York in 1976 to start a new life in San Francisco. Richard lived his life without complaint – both during the good times and the bad – an example to all of us who knew him. While in San Francisco he made many friends who came to love him for his humor, warmth and honesty.
Richard contributed to the specialness of San Francisco by cooking at Chez Jacques, Café San Marcos, Millards’s on Fillmore, Fanny’s, the Blue Light Café and through his catering business, Friends of the Family.
Richard is survived by his lover Terryl, mother Beatrice, brother George, sisters Margaret and Penny and many friends.
