JOHNSON, Florine Elizabeth, 88, of Richmond, formerly of Crewe, passed away Friday November 3, 2017. The widow of Charles Spicer Hooper and George Ira Johnson, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Charlie Sue Rappold. She is survived by her daughters, Florine Elizabeth “Beth” Hooper, Eve Ann Garner and Heidi Hooper; grandchildren, David Rosenfeld, Andrea Swope and Debbie Miller; and great-grandchildren, Charlie and Charlotte Swope, and Mathilde Sue Miller. Mrs. Johnson was a retired teacher with Chesterfield County schools and continued to volunteer as “Mother Goose” reading to children at area schools. She also was a volunteer at Retreat Hospital and was a docent at the Governor’s Mansion. A memorial reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 26, in the Reading Room at the Masonic Home of Virginia, 500 Masonic Lane, Richmond, Va. 23223.
