American diplomat. He was a reporter for the DeKalb County News, an attorney, Clerk of the City Court in Aurora, Illinois, and Deputy Clerk and Clerk for Kane County before embarking on a diplomatic career. Beaupre was U.S. Consul in Guatemala City from 1897 to 1899, and Bogota, Colombia from 1899 to 1903. From 1903 to 1904 he was U.S. Minister to Colombia, and he served as Minister to Argentina from 1904 to 1908. He served as Minister to the Netherlands and Luxembourg from 1908 to 1911. Beaupre's final assignment was Minister to Cuba, where he served from 1911 until his retirement in 1913. He died two days after suffering a stroke at his Chicago home.
