At the young age of seventeen Bertha met and married George Meyer a mechanic for the Deluxe Water Taxi Company in Long Beach. The couple soon moved to Bakersfield where their first child was born. In 1943 George and Bertha left Bakersfield to take over the Meyer family farm in Stratford, California where she was an active Citizen. As a young woman Bertha played the piano and loved to sing, dance and play cards.
At the age of sixty two she attended Fresno City College where she earned her CNA certificate. Her career in nurcing was spent caring for the elderly until she retired at the age of eighty four.
She was an avid sports fan of Fresno State, San Francisco Gaints and the Forty Niners.
Bertha was very strong in her faith and attended First Christian Church.
Bertha is the beloved mother of Charles, Janet, Susan, Kerrell, and Nancy. She is missed very much by those who loved her.
