Mrs Sara Kiger Rites Wednesday
Rev G D Watts, pastor of the Pleasant Hill M E church, Sherrard, will officiate at the funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock for Mrs Sarah M Kiger, 76, wife of J F Kiger, who died suddenly Sunday evening at her home in Mozart. She had just returned home from church services when she suffered a heart attack.
Services will take place from the home of her daughter, Mrs Walter Miller, in Mozart, and interment will follow in Mount Olivet cemetery.
A daughter of the late Ruben and Elizabeth Ashton, was born in Martins Ferry. Her parents moved to this city 67 years ago. Following the marriage 59 years ago of Mr and Mrs Kiger they moved to Sherrard, but two years ago moved to Mozart. She was a member of the Sherrard M E church, of the Ladies Aid society and the Ladies Bible class.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by nine children: R Alvin Kiger of Washington DC; P R Kiger, superintendent of the Gutam locks, Panama canal, J H Kiger of Marysville, Tenn, B C Kiger, of Sherrard, Ross, Reed and Miss Rufina Kiger, at home, Mrs B S Mozena, of Martins Ferry, Mrs Walter Miller, of Mozart.
Four sisters also survive: Mrs Charles Helsley, of Martins Ferry, Mrs R L Criswell, of Cleveland, Mrs Iva Singewalt and Mrs W B Carnahan of Wheeling, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
