Frances Duffie Felkel, 93, of Elloree died Saturday, December 8, 2012 after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 11 at Jericho United Methodist Church near Cameron with the Rev. Roger C. Goupil officiating. Burial will follow at the Jericho United Methodist cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, James Wiles, Charles Duffie, Cally Harmon, Edgie Ketcherside and Irvin Shuler. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Mrs. Felkel was born August 17, 1919 in Prosperity, SC to the late Isaiah Coy Duffie and Cora Nichols Duffie.

She was a member of Jericho United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW and Ladies Sunday School Class. She was the oldest member of the church. She was also active in the Evergreen Garden Club, Young at Hearts, Golden Age, and was a charter member of the Manly J. D. Dantzler Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty F. Henson (Chuck) of Orangeburg, and Emily F. Temples (Jeff) of Columbia; two grandchildren, Brian Henson (Nancy) of Bowman; and Suzanne H. Sanders (Jamie) of Columbia; two great grandchildren, Keith and Grace Kay Henson; sisters, Maud Lee Green of Saluda and Mae Martin (Bill) of Saluda; and a special niece, Cynthia F. Smith of Elloree. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter B. Felkel, Jr.; a sister, Eoline Buffington, and a brother, Charlie Duffie.

Friends may call at the residence or at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Monday, December 10 between 9am-6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Jericho UMC Cemetery Fund care of Heber Jackson, 5286 Cameron Rd., Cameron, SC 29030.
