First wife was Clara Cary Jefferson. They were married in Oct. 1878. They had three children, Eva Estella (Bracey) Bobbitt, Herbert Adolphus Bracey and "Clarence Cornelius... Clara "d. at birth of son Clarence in Oct. 1878".

Second wife was Laura (Parker) Bracey, "daughter of James Harvey and Mary Crosby (Scott) Parker of Enfield, NC." They had four children: "Cary Angelina, Mary Salome, Algernon Walton and Annie Laura.

Third Wife; Widowed, he married Nannie W. Evans on 16.Nov.1889, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. She was born c.1850, Mecklenburg County as the daughter of Wacker and E. Evans. Nannie "died ca. 1892; no children".

Fourth Wife; Widowed again, he married Beatrice Hamilton Savage on 24.Jun.1894, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. She was born c.1867, Mecklenburg County as the daughter of George L. and Theresa Savage. Beatrice "died September 5, 1895; no children".

Fifth Wife; Widowed again, he married Georgie Etta Savage on 04.Nov.1896, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. She was born c.1876, Mecklenburg County as the daughter of George L. and Theresa Savage. "sister of Beatrice Hamilton Savage and sister of Adolphus' son Algernon (child of 2nd wife Laura Parker Bracey) Children: Gerald Velmont, Dorothy, Nita Parrish, Adolphus Gee".
