Commanded Company at Chancellorsville when S. Hamrick was killed and 7 & 8-63. Wounded Elk River near Mulberry Tennessee 12-23-63 Tennessee--by guerillas while escorting foraging wagons. POW at Elk River. Injured left ankle contusion & sprain--while escaping captors, jumped from cliff into Elk River. Discharged Covington Kentucky 4-18-64 disability from injuries. "Sam" Died at Enid Okalhoma 11-12-1913, buried Masonic Cemetery, Custer City Oklahoma
