OBITUARY :
MISS RUTH DETRICH SMITH, aged 47 years, of Waynesboro, Pa., formerly of Thurmont, died Thursday at the Waynesboro Hospital where she had been confined since October.

She was born in Frederick, county, near Thurmont, the daughter of George W. and Anna (Spencer) Smith, and went to Waynesboro from Thurmont in 1901.

Miss Smith was taken ill a year ago and admitted to the hospital last April where she underwent an appendectomy and had returned home for about four months. She was taken ill again last October.

Miss Smith was a member of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church and the Richardson Sunday school class.

Surviving are her father, George W. Smith; two brothers, Elmer T. Smith, Waynesboro; Luther Smith, Mt. Holly Springs and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Pentz, Baltimore, and Mrs. Russell Heffner, Hagerstown.

Funeral Saturday in charge of Rev. S. E. Lobach. Interment in Burns Hill cemetery, Waynesboro, Pa.
