Among survivors are these children, Mrs. Gerald Shorb, and Mrs. Charles Eyler, of Thurmont; Martin L. Freshman, at home; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Brice and William Brice, Thurmont; a sister, Mrs. Charles Weddle, Gettysburg.
Funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont, conducted by Rev. Elmer Andrews. Burial in Thurmont Cemetery.

My sister and I called our great-grandmother "Ma-Maw". I remember a lot of people called her "Lacey" or "Lace".
She died when we were 5 and 6, but I can still smell her house. Always a clean smell mixed with something good that was cooking. I don't remember her talking much but she never spared the hugs.
