Ronald story was tragic and preventable. For several months Ronald kept having migrain headaches and kept going to the doctors for help. He was always sent home and told to take aspirin and lay down. One appointment that said he had and ear infection. Several months of doctor visits his headaches only go worse. Then on Friday June 18, 1993 the week-end of Father's day he went to the hospital with severe migraine. Doctors finally ordered a CAT Scan and he was told to come back Monday, after the week-end, for the Scan.
The next day he went into a collasped and was taken by ambulance to hospital. The discovered that night Ronald had a brain tumor, but he had slipped into a coma. He never made it through the week-end for his CAT Scan appointment. Instead of a CAT Scan on Monday, he was removed from life support. It was June 21st the day after Father's day. He passed around 7 pm that evening.
Ronald was survived by his 16 year old daughter Andrea, 12 year old son Michael, parents James and Eveyln Shinault, two sisters Mitzi and Yolanda and a brother Donald. He also left behind many cousins, uncles, aunties, neices and nephews. The Shinault family is extensive and over 300 relatives honored his life at a family reunion picnic the day of his burial June 26, 1993. The Shinault name is of French lineage.
