"She was in a cane field and punctured a varicose vein in her leg. She bled to death in her kitchen. Many of her children witnessed her death."

Lucinda also raised Nancy Jane Ray (1972-1959), her husband's dau from his first marriage to Elizabeth Daniels, who died from complications with Nancy's birth.

1900 census Lucinda indicated she had 13 of 15 children living. She had her 15th known child after the census. Only the first known child, W.B., had died by 1900, she apparently had another child b/d between census records, and before 1900.

Lucinda is with her parents and siblings Jefferson, Johnson Co MO in 1860, and at Warrensburg, Johnson Co. 1870, with husband and children Adams, DeKalb MO. 1880, and Jefferson, Johnson Co in 1900 census.

The 1910 census show only the four youngest (Grace, Olaf, Delpha and Thomas) in household of their father, Joseph. He remarried after 1910 to Mary N. Davis.

Note: Obit of Lucinda's mother indicates Lucinda was buried at Hickory Point/Old Hickory Point Cemetery. A tombstone photo for Lucinda has been posted on-line, indicating it was taken at Bethel Union Cem.
