Edna the daughter of Fred and Martha (nee Toronitz) Schrader.

On September 19, 1937, Edna was united in marriage to Edward Aichele, son of Ludwig and Christina Aichele. The couple made their home on the farm in the Fone Hill/Willowbrook District, where they raised their six children.

Ed and Edna continued farming until their retirement in 1974. They lived in Melville for a short time, before moving to Yorkton, to live next door to their son, Norman and his family. Following Ed's death in 1981, Edna remained in her own home until her arthritis made a move to a smaller space a necessity. She lived into Queen Elizabeth Court until 2011 when she became a resident of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, where she remained until her passing.

Family meant the world to Edna. She was the head of the household, and kept busy throughout the years with gardening, canning, quilting, knitting and crocheting for all her children and grandchildren. Edna took great pride in volunteering for many years at the Yorkton Thresherman's Show, where she baked bread in the clay ovens. Other pass-times included playing horseshoes and bowling.

Edna will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Edna was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Edward; two sisters, Ruth and Freda; two half-brothers, Clarence and Arthur; her daughter, Gloria and grandson, Terry.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Norman (Sylvia) of Yorkton, SK, Vern (Deanna) of Yorkton, SK, Beatrice (Orest) of Melville, SK, Shirley (Nick) of Victoria, BC and Ivy (Taras) of Sheho, Saskatchewan. Edna also leaves to mourn numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
