John H. Toms, son of the late Abraham Toms, living near Foxville, died after a week's illness from pneumonia, aged 56 years. He was one of the largest peach growers in the county.
The Daily News, Frederick, Maryland, 11 December 1911:
John Hamilton Toms, of Foxville, died at his home at that place last evening at 10 o'clock from pneumonia, aged 56 years, 2 months and 26 days. He was a well known fruit grower and it is said that he owned one of the finest peach orchards in that section of the county, where many persons are now turning their attention to fruit growing. Mr. Toms is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Wolf. One son, Charles Toms, also survives. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning. leaving the house at 10 o'clock. Services will be held in Bethel church. M. L. Etchison is the funeral director.
