She died at the age of 76 in Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She lived in Orange area since 1953. Mass was celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange, TX. She was predeceased by her father Clyde Basco and mother Ada Basco Draper, two brothers Joseph M. Basco, Donald Bordelon, two sisters, Catherine Majol Read and Barbara Bordelon. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years John P. Read, one daughter Janet Greene, two sons Kirby Read, Kevin Read, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Herbert Basco, John F. Basco, three sisters, Mattie Schilling, Anna McMillan and Alice Tassin.
