Wayland James Young, 69, of Collinsville, Illinois, died November 4, 2012, at his home. He was a Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He worked with the NASA space program and later with electronics systems on industrial projects, usually with oil companies in the United States and throughout the world. He retired from Anheuser Busch, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri, as a field engineer. He was a member of the Victoria United Methodist Church.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on December 16 at Byhalia Cemetery.

He leaves a son, Matthew James Young (Tracy) of Livermore, California.; a daughter, Beth Bouvier Sperry of Marshall, Texas.; a brother, Seth Yarbrough Young III (Margie) of Fayetteville, Arkansas.; a sister, Darlene Young Shanklin (Steve) of Martin, Tennessee; and six grandchildren.
