Claude Potter, 88, of Russellville, Ala., died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Potter was a native of Morgan County and a member of Grace Baptist Church, Russellville. He was a retired farmer and security guard from the state of Alabama. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel in Russellville. The minister will be Jim Lumpkin. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors include his spouse, Margaret Louise Hallmark Potter, of Russellville, Ala.; children, Marvis Snider (Tom), of Pearl, Miss., Carolyn Mitchell (O.D.), of Russellville Ala., Alice Faye McFarland (Tom), Auburn, Ala., Joann Pounders (Charles), of Spruce Pine, Ala., Rita Pennington (Johnny), of Spruce Pine, Ala., Jimmy Potter (Lynda), of Phil Campbell, Ala., Kathy Blasingame (Ernie), of Tuscumbia, Ala., Mike Potter (Ginger), Haleyville, Ala.; brothers, Percy Potter, of Leighton, Ala., Corbett Potter, of Leighton, Ala., Edison Potter, of Russellville, Ala., Elvert Potter, of Russellville, Ala.; 34 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, five great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Barry Potter, J.D. Potter, John Moravec, Jay Pounders, Mark Potter, Rodney Alexander, and Joey Smith. He was preceded in death by children, Johnnie Marie Potter Alexander, Claudie Leon Potter and Linda Nell Potter Robledo, and parents, Chester and Margaret Phillips Potter.
