Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Roland Funeral home in Atlantic for Mrs. Anna Arp, 87, of Atlantic, mother of Mrs. Homer Rich of Anita. The Rev. Dean H. Williams officiated and interment was in the Atlantic cemetery.
Mrs. Arp, the daughter of John and Mary Lewerenz Kraack, was born December 21, 1875, in Sterling, Illinois, and passed away Monday morning, January 14, at the Atlantic Memorial Hospital, where she had been hospitalized since a fall December 26.
She came to Cass County with her parents as a small girl. On October 13, 1893, she was married to Henry T. Arp, and they farmed in the Atlantic vicinity until his death November 3, 1941. She continued to live on the farm northeast of Atlantic until 1948 when she moved to her home at 401 Elm Street.
She is survived by two sons, John of Massena and Carl of Denver, Colorado; a daughter, Mrs. Tillie Rich of Anita; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Kaven, Mrs. Millie Bintz, and Mrs. Edna Halm of Minden and Mrs. Clara Lidolph of Colorado; six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary, in infancy; a brother, John Kraack, and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Norris and Ella Kraack.
