Obituary: Scott William Cronic, 79, of 244 Deer Run Lane, husband of Inez Nalley Cronic, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Monroe, GA, he was a son of the late W. Tanner and Odessa Boleman Cronic. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School, attended Lander College and retired from Ballentine Ford. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was presented with a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and an Infantry Badge. He was a member of the Greenwood Country Club and Main Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, Richard Cronic and Hunter Cronic, both of Greenwood; a stepson, Stanley Bowers of Powdersville; a stepdaughter, Susan Sims of Greenwood; a sister, Millie C. Workman of Greenwood; a brother, Ray Cronic of Myrtle Beach; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
