William W. Strong was taken prisoner with Father at the Battle of Fredericksburg Va. He was Paroled
and returned to his unit promoted to Sgt.
He was at the Battle of Gettysburg Pa. and in later in 1864 promoted to First Lt. He was taken prisoner at Peeble Farm Va. He ended up in Salisbury Prison and during this time promoted to Captain. He was Paroled in Early April 1865 and returned to 121st Pennsylvania Infantry.
He was the brother to Catherine,Mary,Edward, and Sarah.
After War he married Anna T. McBride and had nine children. He worked his way up the ladder at the Pennsylvania Railroad. He retired after fifty years service as a Assistant Frieght Controller in Philadelphia,Pa.
He was the Historian and Chairman of the 121st Pennsylvania Infantry. He wrote the History of the Regiment in 1893 and 1906 versions.
He was a member of Grand Army Of The Republic Post #591 Col. Owen Jones of Pa.. He was Post Commander for number years before death in 1929.
