Ms. Edna Hope Michell Black, age 79, of 3687 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Ms. Black was born in Lockhart, SC December 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Johnny H. Gregory and Ruby Wilson Gregory. She was previously employed with Atlas Vending and was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church. Ms. Black was first married to the late Johnny "Hooker" Gregory and secondly married to the late James Mitchell.

Surviving are two daughters: Teresa Henderson and husband Tim and Angela "Soapy" Crawford and husband Freddie all of Union; two sisters: Juanita Wilson and Guynita Flenken both of Chester; four grandchildren: Brad Henderson, Cayse Jeter, Kelly Crawford and Katie Crawford; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Blaine, Jacob, Gracie and Emma Hope and a special nephew, Joe West of Union. Ms. Black was predeceased by a siter, Bobbie Yarborough of Chester.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Glory Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis and Rev. Chris Carr. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Cayse and Coleman Jeter, 117 Brookside Drive, Union, SC 29379.
