Parthenia passed away December 2, 2012, following a brief illness. Born to Charles Burton and Amanda Prix Burton; Parthenia was from a large, close and loving family. She had 15 siblings and was the oldest surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her loving parents and dear friends, Louise & Fred DeLay and Mrs. Iva DeLay.
Parthenia began working for Mr. & Mrs. DeLay in Jackson, TN as a young lady and moved to Nashville, TN with the DeLay family in 1950, where she resided the rest of her life. She was member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church of Nashville, TN.
From 1987-2008 Parthenia was a esident of Villa Maria Manor and later resided at Mary, Queen of Angels Assisted Living Community until March 2012.
Parthenia is survived by her very devoted niece, Ann Jackson of Aurora, IL; several dear friends including Ms. Exie Davis and her daughter, Brianna, both of Nashville, TN; Heather Boyet of Nashville, TN; William T. (Pete) DeLay of Nashville, TN and Cheri DeLay of Sonoma, CA; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Parthenia lays to rest next to her mother Amanda Burton.
