James G. Scott was brought into the world May 11, 1955 to George and Janice (Herrold) Scott at Wagner. He attended school in Plankinton and obtained his GED. He then continued on to Mitchell Tech to pursue a welding degree. He married Jackie (Durham) Scott December 10, 1977. They lived in Geddes and Lake Andes area until 1986 when they moved to Salt Lake City, UT where he worked as a welder. In 1989 they moved back to Geddes with their two daughters, Jayme and Jenna, where he ran Scott Construction, and later decided trucking was his passion and started Hog Wild Trucking which he ran until his death Febuary 27, 2012. He enjoyed going camping, boating, and teaching any and all kids how to water ski, including his own. Along with spending time with family and friends he loved riding around aimlessly on his pride and joy, his Harley. He is survived by his wife Jackie Scott, Geddes, SD, two daughters, Jayme and husband Shawn Kocourek of Scotland, SD, and Jenna and husband TJ Cuka of Sioux Falls, SD, four grandchildren, Trinity, Star, and Brockton Kocourek, and Jersie Cuka, three sisters, Mary (Wayne) Higganson of Plankinton, SD, Beverly Jo Scott of Plankinton, SD, and Sandra (Floyd) Noble of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Scott, two brothers-in-inlaws, Kerry Durham and R.G. Svato, and mother in law Betty Durham.
