Mrs. Mattie Milliron

Mrs. Mattie A. Milliron, 53, widow of Police Sergeant John B. Milliron, died at the family residence, 12 Green street, Friday morning at 10:40 o'clock. Mrs.Milliron had been seriously ill for some time and recently underwent an operation. She was a member of Carroll street Methodist Church and took a deep interest in religious affairs. Sergeant John Griffin was her son-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Carroll street Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. J. R. Stewart and Rev. E. W. Brown. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Among the pallbearer will be men who were friends and fellow officers of her late husband. They are Lieutenant J. L. Redmond, Henry Patton, Detective Walter Reece and Frank Carr. Others are W. M. Gribble, John Beasley and William Woodall.
Mrs. Milliron is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. F. Griffin; one son, John B. Milliron; two brothers, J. H. and Joe Castleman, and a sister, Mrs. Mallie Dale.
Sergeant John B. Milliron was killed in line of duty while enforcing the law as a police officer about six years ago.
