Daubenspeck was involved in the investment and brokerage business for a good majority of his life, serving as Huntingdon district manager for the brokerage firm of Elkins, Morris and Stroud Co. for over 47 years, retiring at age 79 in 1970.
In the early 1940s Daubenspeck served as a Huntingdon town councilman, and in 1946 was elected as Chief Burgess (Mayor) of Huntingdon. He served sixteen years in this post, one of the longest tenures of any mayor in Huntingdon history. Daubenspeck died at age 80 on December 17, 1971 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, and the Huntingdon Daily News obituary for him (where the above photo was found) notes that he had been in a state of failing health over the previous year.
