Mary Ann Luis Farrar was born August 15, 1919 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska to Frank and Irene (Geary) Luis. She graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1938 and completed her X-Ray Technician Course. She worked as an X-Ray Technician at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluff, Iowa from 1941 to 1943. Mary Ann served in the U.S. Navy WAVES from December 1943 March 1946 as Pharmacists Mate Second Class at U.S. Naval Hospital in St. Albans, New York. On June 1, 1946 she was united in marriage to Eldon L. Farrar in Marysville, Kansas. Mary Ann lived in Monroe until her husbands death in 1987 when she moved to Columbus. In 2000 she moved to the Veterans Home in Bellevue. She volunteered as a Den Mother for the Boy Scout Troop 213 in Monroe and served on the Monroe election board. Mary Ann was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Monroe.
