Bill was born in Ontario, OR to the late William and Rosina Acheson. He was an army veteran and a retired mechanical engineer from the aircraft industry.
After retiring he taught HVAC at Delaware Tech at the Stanton Campus. He attended the Brandywine Valley Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. While his children were young, he led Boys Brigade. Bill also taught bible studies. Survivors: His wife of 49 years Donna K. Acheson; 3 children Carolyn Acheson and her husband Lee Vane of Cincinnati, OH, Jonathan of Horsham, PA and Jeffrey and his wife Amy of Newark, DE; 1 grandson Samuel; 1 sister Mary Ann Armstrong of Juneau, AK; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, at 10:30 AM at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt 202, just south of Silverside Rd), Wilmington, DE, 302-478-2204. Calling after 9:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elwyn Delaware, c/o Senior Reflections, 321 E. 11th St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
