Loyd C. Burk, 62, an orchard worker at Parkdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Hood River Care Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 19, 11 a.m., at The Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will be at the County Cemetery.
He was born May 18, 1916, in Scotland, Ark., to Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland R. Burk. He has lived in this area for ten years. Survivors include five children: Gary Burk, Brenda K. Barby and Gayle Hayes, all of Bakersfield, Calif., Brenda Gayle Gawan of Turlock, Calif., and Betty, last name and address unknown. Also surviving are three brothers, Otis and Harold, both of Merced, Calif., and Alva of Jackson, Calif., and 12 grandchildren.

Note: January 2012 a volunteer reported: "It's not a large cemetery but I couldn't find his stone. There was a lot of leaf fall, perhaps I missed one that was well buried, but do think the stone is not there."
