She was the daughter of James Barnett and Mary Jane (Dennis) Allen and married William Bryan Burrum, Jr. - 13 May 1943 - Williamson Co., Tennessee.

Burrum-Allen Vows Are Said --

Mrs. Barnett Allen announced the marriage of her daughter, Mabel, to William B. Burrum, Jr., private first class, of the United States Marine Corps, stationed in San Diego, California, son of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Burrum of Nashville.

The married took place May 13 at the home of the officiant, the Rev. O. L. Simpson, in Franklin, Tennessee.

The bride, a daughter of the late Mr. Allen, is a graduate of the Adairville High School, Adairville, Kentucky, and of the Tennessee Business College. She is now connected with the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company.

Mr. Burrum attended Cohn High School, and has just returned from overseas duty.

The bride will make her home temporarily at 1608 Lillian Street while Mr. Burrum is stationed in San Diego.

Obituaries:

Mrs. William Bryant Burrum, Jr., 38, former operator for the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, died yesterday at her home, 1225 Kermit Drive, after a one-year illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m tomorrow at the Una Baptist Church on Murfreesboro Road. The Rev. Herman A Lemay will officiate, and burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at the Ellis and Kidd Funeral Home, 2627 Nolensville Road.

Mrs. Burrum was the former Mabel Allen. She and Mr. Burrum, who owns Capitol Disposal Services, were married 15 years ago.

The daughter of J. B. and Mary Allen, Mrs. Burrum was born and attended school in Adairville, Kentucky. She moved here in 1938.

survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mary Roseann Burrum; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Hartman and Mrs. Glenn Reavis, Nashville; four brothers, John Ed Allen, Nashville, Thomas R. Allen, Herbert Allen, and Claude Allen, all of Adairville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Mable Burrum, died Thursday afternoon, July 24, at her home at 1225 Kermit Drive. She was 38 years old.

She is survived by her husband, W. B. Burrum, Jr.; daughter, Mary Roseann Burrum; sisters, Mrs. Opal Hartman and Mrs. Ethel Readis of Nashville; brothers, Thomas Allen, Herbert Allen and Claude Allen of Adairville, Kentucky, and John Gid Allen of Nashville.

Remains are at Ellis and Kidd Funeral Home, 2627 Nolensville Road. Funeral services will be from the Una Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Hiram LeMay.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Honorary: deacons of the Una Baptist Church; Active: Frank Hartman, John Burrum, Charlie Burrum, Lloyd Allen, J. Ryland Allen, and James Sutton.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Ellis and Kidd, directing.
