Born in Paterson, N.J., on Aug. 2, 1947, he was the son of Earl I. Ackerman Sr. of Sciota and the late Jean (Lindenburg) Ackerman.
Earl had worked as a driver for Dick's Concrete in New Hampton, N.Y., for 16 years.
In addition to his loving and devoted wife, he is survived by four daughters, Christine Mugavero and her husband, James, of Huguenot, N.Y., Karen Barton and her husband, Scott, of Port Jervis, N.Y., Heather Ackerman and her companion, Larry Mulligan, of Glen Spey, N.Y., and Jennifer Hall and her husband, Keith, of Port Jervis, N.Y.; one son, Matthew Ackerman, at home; one stepson, Kenneth Decker Jr. of Monticello, N.Y.; one brother, G. James Ackerman Sr. and his wife, Vena, of Brodheadsville; one sister, Sharon Ackerman of Sciota; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Ackerman.
