Virginia L. Condon died April 25 following a debilitating illness for the past six years. A native of Michigan and a Los Altos resident, she was 91.
Orphaned as a young girl, Mrs. Condon persevered through hard times and graduated with a bachelor's in physics at the age of 20 from Hillsdale College at the age of 20. She later taught in the mathematics department at Fordson High School in Michigan and taught piano privately. She later received her Master's of Education in counseling and guidance at the University of Michigan and began counseling high school students.
She was a guidance counselor at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. where she was employed until 1972. While there, she was honored as Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Condon was the widow of George Stewart Condon. She is survived by three children, George A. Condon, Mary Lue Condon Whitcher, and M. Richard Condon; six grandchildren, Gregory Eiche Aitken, Katy Eiche, Kara M. Condon, Tami L. Condon, Elizabeth Rose Condon, and Patrick George Condon; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Aitken and Riley Aitken.
A Funeral mass April 30 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Interment at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Los Altos.
