"The marriage of Miss Rosie T. Sherman and Arthur A. Sherman took place at the home of the brides parents, 2034 Blake Street on Wednesday evening (25 Apr 1900).
The house resembled a beautiful garden, being decorated with branches of redwood and a quantity of wild glowers. The walls were completely hidden beneath a wealth of redwood and other greens.
Rev. William Meserve of the Oakland Baptist Church performed the ceremony. The maid of honor was Miss Florence Sherman, and Miss Frances Raymond acted as a bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his cousin William Greer. Little Earl Wright acted as a ringbearer. Elsie Piper was the flower girl. The wedding march was played by a stringed orchestra.
The bride wore a dainty gown of white organdy over silk with trimmings f lace and ribbons. She carried a bouquet of bride roses.
Miss Florence Sherman and Miss Frances Raymond were attired in pink organdy over white. They carried bridesmaid roses.
A wedding repast was served during the evening in the dining room which was prettily decorated with foliage and Chinese lanterns.
The brides bouquet was caught by Miss Calish of San Francisco.
Amid showers of rice Mr. and Mrs. Sherman took their departure. The honeymoon will be spent at Del Monte, Monterey County, and the young people will then attend the carnival at Sacramento. Mr. Sherman will leave on May 21st for Cape Nome, but will not be accompanied by his wife.
