Leslie was born March 4, 1938 in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio. He attended Johnsville High School and St. Aloysius Military Academy in New Lexington, Ohio. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Marengo, Ohio, and the Dublin Community Church. Veteran US Army and Army Reserves. He also was a member of the Gideons, Pro Bass Masters in Ohio and the Space Coast Bass Fanatics in Florida. He was well-known for his love of fishing, as well as his great but mostly exaggerated fishing stories! He had really good fishing buddies in Florida, Gene Dowdy and Jim Blount and his really good fishing buddies in Ohio, Harry Hirth and Josh Jones. He loved to travel as well as watch Ohio State football games. He was very well-respected in the Meat processing industry for over 30 years in Columbus, starting Hudson Meat Company in 1976.
Preceded in death by parents Sidney and Dorothy Hope, brother Fred Hope.
Survived by loving wife, Sandra (Barnett) Hope; daughters, Cindy (Mark) Hoskey and Karen (Joe) Blanton; step-sons, Dan (IIiana) Emmenegger and Jeff Emmenegger; grandchildren, Stacy Young, Andrea Blanton, and Grace, Andre and Victoria Emmenegger; great-grandson, Jackson Young; sisters, Dorothy Parker, Avis Truska and Margo Garver; beloved dogs, Marty and Princess; many other loving family and friends.
Friends may call at Dublin Community Church, 81 W. Bridge Street, Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. Robert Tussing officiating. Interment Dublin Cemetery. Arrangements being completed at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad Street.
