Herman Buchanan

Herman L. Buchanan, 64, of Crete, Neb., passed away Sept. 19, 2002, in Lincoln, Neb.

He was born Dec. 30, 1937, to Arthur and Catherine (West) Buchanan in Wood County. He was a roofer for 45 years, working for 23 years as a self-employed roofing contractor at Crete Roofing Co.

He is survived by his wife, Mary John Buchanan of Crete, Neb.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick and Jan Buchanan of Crete, Neb., and Michael Buchanan of Lincoln, Neb.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Tejral, and Teresa and Brad Coon, all of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Susan, Sheri, Nicole, Kenneth, Allen and Brandi; three great-grandchildren, Rayshaw, Thomas and Mackensie; two sisters, Eva Buchanan and Freeda Hardie, both of Parkersburg; one brother, Don Buchanan of Williamstown; two sisters-in-law, Alma Hermsmeier of Lincoln, Neb.; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Bob Coleman of Milford; three brothers-in-law, Leroy Rahe of Milford, Neb., Dwaine Rahe, and Larry Rahe, both of Lincoln, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Mondayat Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Park with Bob Payne, Dennis Payne, Larry Rahe Jr., Allen Tejral, Eugene Stutzman and Chuck Fuller as pallbearers, and Tomtom, Rainman, Dwaine Rahe, Leroy Rahe, Larry Rahe, Bobby Coleman, Chuck Schneider, Chuck Triggs, Bob Lorenz and Ray Campbell as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family.
