Lafoy James Crain, 92, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.

Born February 5, 1920 in Greenvile, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie Crain and Lettie Childs Crain Dupree. A member of Bethany Baptist Church, he was a member and past president of the Maranatha Sunday School Class, a choir member, an usher and a trustee. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and attended Junior College. Mr. Crain was retired after 40 years of service as a bus driver with the Duke Energy Company.

Mr. Crain was predeceased by his first wife, Edna Earle Hines Crain; his second wife, Mildred Wright McCorkle Crain; his son, Dale Crain; and his sisters and brothers.

Surviving are his sons, Perry Crain of Spartanburg, SC, Robert Crain of Inman, and Michael Crain of California.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at Bethany Baptist Church, 622 Alamo St., Spartanburg, SC, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Rusher and the Rev. Dr. Herbert Garrett. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes.
