Brimmer, Scott W.
Firefighter-Paramedic, Elmira Fire Dept., Age 37, of Southport, NY, died on Saturday morning, April 3, 2004 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. Friends may call at the Holly-Keck & Baker, Inc. Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 7, from 2 pm until 6 pm. Funeral services will be held at Webb Mills United Methodist Church, 1623 Pennsylvania Ave, Pine City, NY on Thursday, April 8 at 1 pm. Pastor Patrick Haley officiating. Interment will follow in Webb Mills Cemetery, Webb Mills, NY. Flowers are welcomed, or those wishing may make memorials to the Elmira Firefighters Association Equipment Fund, c/o Elmira Fire Dept., 101-109 W. Second St., Elmira, NY 14901 or Station 4 Historical Society, c/o Jeffrey C. Burger, PO Box 103, Elmira, NY 14902. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Brimmer of Southport, NY; stepsons, Joshua Michael Northrup and wife Erica of Wayne, NY, Tyler R Frederick of Southport, NY; loving parents, Donald and Rebecca Brimmer of Webb Mills, NY; sister Theresa Vanstrander of Elmira, NY; nieces, Megan Scott and Jessica Scott; nephew Donny Vanstrander; fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law Lyman and Joyce Storm of Wayne, NY and William and Susan Orr of Tyrone, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law William Jr. and Sandra Orr, Paul and Misty Orr, all of Wayne, NY, and Andrew and Sue Anne Jackson of Kansas; Grandparents Beatrice and John Yasenchak of Elmira, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Scott was a graduate of Southside High School in 1984, a US Navy veteran and at the age of 16, became a member of the Webb Mills Volunteer Fire Department. At the age of 20, he became a member of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department. For the last eight years, Scott was a Firefighter-Paramedic for the Elmira Fire Department. He also joined the Schuyler Volunteer Ambulance Association in 2000. Scott was dedicated to helping other people. Scott's dedicated service to the Elmira Fire Department and the Medical Service will be greatly missed.
