Billy Edward Harris, 72, of Alexandria, passed away on December 23, 2012 at the Saint John's Health System Anderson, IN. He was born on March 6, 1940 in Twinton, Tennessee and resided most of his life in Muncie.

He is a retired pressman for Centennial Packaging.

He was a journeyman with the Graphic Communications International Union since 1988. He loved cars and country music, and enjoyed playing guitar. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

Billy is survived by his loving spouse of 12 years, Marsha (Blair) Harris of Alexandria, IN, son, DeWayne Harris of Muncie, IN, son, Darin (Kristi) Harris of Muncie, IN, step-daughter, Carrie Benefiel of Dillon, CO, step-daughter, Jessica (Chuck Moore) Benefiel of Frankton, IN. Grandchildren, Jordan Harris, Ryne Harris, Audrey Harris (spouse, William Voss) and Kyle Harris. step-grandchildren, Nathan Moore and Addisyn Moore, great grandchild, Alexander Harris. Siblings, Gwen Livingston, Jimmy(Phyllis) Harris of Muncie, Bruce (Thelma) Harris of Crawford, TN. and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, Oliver Harris, mother, Mae (Threet) Harris and grandchild, Erica Harris, siblings, Justine Crockett, Eva Osterling, Juanita Allred, Audrey Harris, Baby Girl Harris, Brooks Harris, Aubrey Harris and James Harris and stepson Nathan Benefiel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 4-8pm at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, Indiana.

Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 29, 2012 with Dr. Michael Gilliam officiating.

Burial will take place in Frankton at the K. of P. and I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the nurses in the Saint John's Critical Care Unit for their loving care provided to Billy and his family during his hospitalization and to Dr. Mares and Dr. Ong and their staff for their continued care over the years.
