William H Bassett, 75, an employee of American Steel & Wire for 51 years, died yesterday at the home of his son, Raymond E on E 110th St.
He began work at the steel company at 10. Since his retirement in Pittsburgh 14 years ago, he had lived on his farm in Huntsburg, Ohio.
Besides his son, survivors are a daughter, Pauline; another son, William H Jr; 2 brothers, Daniel and Moses; 2 sisters, Mrs Maria Harris and Mrs Lillian Snyder.
