DEATH OF JOSEPH DEMOUY

Yesterday morning at 11 O'clock, at the residence of Mr Marshall McAuley, 533 Charleston Street, died joseph Demouy
in the sixty-ninth year of his age. Mr Demouy was a native of Mobile County, and had resided here all his life. He was a farmer and stock raiser at Cottage Hill, near this city, for many years. He served in the confederate army in the 21st Ala regiment. The deceased was married in 1850 to Isabel Girard, from which union there were born six children four of whom survive him, to-wit Frank J Demouy
, Mrs Rosa Isabel Layton, Mrs Mary Esther McAuley,and Newton T Demouy. His 2nd wife was Miss Mary Ellen Tachoir, who with two children, Willam and Marshall Demouy
survive him. Mr Demouy was admired and respected by all who knew him as an honest, God fearing man, a kind parent and a useful citizen. He was noted for gentleness, was unassuming and courteous in maner and a devoted member of the Roman Catholic faith, receiving the sacraments of his church before his death. The funeral will take place from St Vincent's Church at 3:30 O'clock today.
