He married, first, Sarah E. Hobbs [Mrs J H Jobes #1], daughter of Benedict G.(J) Hobbs and Casandra Lee [Mrs #1 Benedict G. Hobbs #2 John Green],11 Jun 1851, in Stewart Co, TN

J H Jobes received a 160 acre land Patent from Texas Governor Ross in Kimble County, on the South Llano River west bank, about 9 1/2 miles up river from Junction City.

He married second, Rachel Ann Lamb People {Widow}, 18 May 1871, in Bexar Co, TX. Divorce, before 1880. Div Filing: 31 Jul 1871, in Bexar Co, TX. (She wasBorn, circa 1828 MS- Died, after 1882)

Rachel's marriage to J. H. Jobes the 18th of May 1871 took place by the J P of Precinct 1 and was witnessed by Frits Schreiner (he was in the livestock business in San Antonio). This was the brother of Captain Charles Schreiner founder of the large Y-O Ranch and patron of the Schreiner businesses in and around Kerrville, Texas.
