He married Mary Delene Eder on May 26, 1956 in Eudora, KS. Eugene worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Eudora Township and City of Eudora for 30 years. He retired from the City of Eudora in 1993.
He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Eudora Fire Department for 25 years and assistant leader for 6 years with the Eudora Boy Scouts.
Eugene is survived by his wife Mary, daughters, Joanne Marie Noll, Hiawatha, KS, Dolores Ann Korb, Valley Falls, KS; son, Donald Eugene Born, Peyton, CO; 10 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and sisters, Clara Webb, Chanute, KS, Jeanne Greenlee, Lawrence, KS, Mary Ann Duling, Girard, KS and Betty Roberts, Erie, KS; brother, Philip Born, Nampa, Idaho.
