Wayne M. Wichmann

Wayne M. Wichmann, age 67, of 1606 Appletree Rd, Howards Grove, passed away late Saturday evening, Aug. 18, 2001, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1934, in Caroline, Wis., a son to the late Richard and Ahlie (Poppendorf) Wichmann.

Wayne attended school in Caroline and Clintonville. He was a 1953 graduate of Clintonville High School. He married Erna Berth on June 1, 1957, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. He retired from the Kohler Co. after 44 years, having worked in the generator and engine divisions of the company. Wayne was a very proud father, grand-father and great-grandfather. In earlier years he enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. Of late, he most enjoyed his cabin in the north woods. He was a former volunteer firefighter in Howards Grove for over 20 years, and he was a member of the Kohler Co. Quarter Century Club. Wayne was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving Wayne are his loving wife, Erna; one son: James (Lisa) Wichmann of Sheboygan; three daughters: Debra (Gosz) Wichmann of Howards Grove, Bonnie (Bill) Nonnemacher of Howards Grove, and Kelly Wichmann of West Bend; six grandchildren: Jessica and Nicholas Gosz, Danielle, Calli and Logan Nonnemacher, and Shauna Wichmann; one great-grandchild, Gavin Goehring. He is further survived by one brother, Arlo (Janice) Wichmann of Weyauwega, and one sister: Joanne (James) Wulterkens of Appleton; nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wichmann.

A funeral service will be held for Wayne on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Highway 32 and Playbird Road south of Howards Grove. Rev. Kristian Taves, pastor, will officiate. Friends may call on the family from 3 p.m. until time of service at the CHURCH on Wednesday. Private entombment will be held on Thursday morning.

A memorial fund in the name of Wayne M. Wichmann has been established.
