Mavis Annette Hegman, of White Bear Lake, MN, formerly of St. Paul and Braham, passed away on Tues, Dec 25, 2012, at the Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake. She was 94 years old. Mavis was born on Oct 16, 1918, in Maple Ridge Township in Isanti County, MN, to parents Axel and Signa (Erickson) Lundeen. She was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Signa, husband Fred, daughter Joyce Moreney, and sister June Thompson. She attended country school through the 8th grade. In 1936, Mavis was united in marriage to Fred James Hegman. The couple moved to St. Paul where they lived for the majority of their lives. Mavis was blessed with three children, Barbara, Joyce, and Tom. Mavis was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for her family. She greatly enjoyed nature and the outdoors, watching and feeding the bird, and tending to flower and vegetables gardens in her younger years. Mavis was the picture-perfect hostess, always ready and willing to cook and entertain family and friends. Most of all, Mavis will be remembered as a caregiver. She devoted countless hours to taking care of those around her—giving endless love and comfort. She will be dearly missed. Mavis is survived by her son Tom Hegman of Stanchfield, daughter Barbara Monson of N. St. Paul, grandchildren Linda (Charles) Mercado, Shawn (Jennifer) Moreney, and Linda Monson; great grandchildren Dustin, Brent, and Laura Mercado; several other relatives and friends. A Memorial service was held on Sat, Dec 29, 2012, at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham with Rev. Steve Jennisch officiating. Inurnment was in the South Maple Ridge Cemetery of rural Stanchfield. Arrangements are by the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.
