John E. Greguric, 85, of Westmoreland City, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Penn Township, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kavran) Greguric. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Irwin, the United Methodist Men, the Happy Methodists and was a BYKOTA Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the American Legion of Manor. John was a major in the Army with 22 years of service. He served during World War II in logistics while in Europe and the Philippines. Prior to retirement, he worked as an advertising account executive for Rockwell International of Pittsburgh for more than 35 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Greguric; and a sister, Florence Tagge. Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Elaine A. (Krotz) Greguric; three children, Jean Halza and her husband, Steve, of North Huntingdon, Joel Greguric and his wife, Patty, of Baldwin, and Jan Greguric and his wife, Melissa, of Peters Township; seven grandchildren, Katie and Andy Halza, Ryan and Alex Greguric and Kayla, Kiersten and Hannah Greguric; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church of Irwin with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Thomas St. Clair, officiating. Please go directly to church. Interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
