She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Taylor Donelson, Jr.; her parents, Virginia Johnson Parker and Percy Parker, her sister, Miriam Parker Beasley, and her brother, Larry McCormick, Jr. She was born February 6, 1929, in Memphis, Tennessee.
She attended Bruce Elementary School, graduated from Lausanne School for Girls in 1947, and attended Finch Junior College in New York City, New York.
She was a member of the Junior League of Memphis, The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and the St. John's Flower Guild.
She began her career in 1957, with Doncaster, Inc. In 1980, she started Special Occasions, a children's custom clothing line. She devoted much time and effort to her designs and Special Occasions was her pride and joy.
She is survived by her three daughters, Helen Johnson Donelson, Mildred Donelson Huffman (Gary), Virginia Donelson Curry (Edward), her sister-in-law, Julia Donelson Ehrhardt, seven granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at St. John's Episcopal Church on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Her family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the Trezevant Terrace, Allen Morgan Health Center and Crossroads Hospice caregivers for the love and care given to GiGi over the last five years.
