Services for Vera Jeffcoat Martin, 85, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2001 at Livingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robbie Hall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jamie Martin, Phillip Fanning III, Jeff Sligh, Marty Addison, Timothy Martin and Lorne Southern. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sligh, 1320 Silver Spring Road in Livingston and will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Livingston United Methodist Church Building Fund. Mrs. Martin died Tuesday, September 25, 2001. Born in Orangeburg county, she was a daughter of the late Tunis L. and Maggie Mae Livingston Jeffcoat. She retired from Stone Manufacturing Company and was a member of Livingston United Methodist Church. She was married to the late Wildon N. Martin Sr. Surviving are daughters, Martha Sligh of Livingston, Carolyn Martin of Barnwell, Nancy M. Fanning of Neeses and Elaine M. Wilson of Gaston; sons, Wildon N. Martin Jr. of Livingston and James Terry Martin of Orangeburg; brother, James L. Jeffcoat of Neeses; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. © The State, Columbia, SC, 26 Sep 2001
