He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Lora Emma Jane Corn McCarson, his wife, Ruth Beddingfield McCarson and several brothers and sisters.
He was a US Army veteran of WW II serving in the European Theatre, worked for Camp Greystone, retired from Cranston Print Works and was a member of Tuxedo First Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda M. McMurray and husband Kirk of Flat Rock; two grandsons, Roger McMurray and wife Renn and Matthew McMurray and his wife Holly; one great grandson, Baker Carson McMurray and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Tuxedo First Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mikell Bennett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tuxedo Baptist Church, PO Box 685, Zirconia, NC 28790.
