Dau. of Jacob Irion b. 1838 & Louisa Schneider b. 1844 from Germany. In the 1880 census for Union Grove, Whiteside Co., IL the family includes Mary Ann, 13, the eldest of 9 children, and also her grandmother, Catherine Schneider b. 1815 Germany.

Marr. Alex Coull on Mar. 13, 1888 in Whiteside Co., IL. Alex was b. Aug. 1862 in Scotland.

After her death in 1908 Alex has moved the children to South Dakota. I only find dau. Louisa B. in the 1910 census but she is 18 and living with the Buchanan household in Walworth, SD.

The 1920 census finds Alex living with his 3 youngest sons: Ward, John Henry & George in Walworth, SD.

In that same 1920 census, dau. Mabel has married Art Bucklin, and her sister, youngest daughter, Gladys, is living with the Bucklins and their 2 children, Luella & Agnes. By the 1940 census the Bucklin children will include George b. 1922 and Dorothy b. 1930.

Son, Loyd A., too is in SD, but I don't find him until the 1940 census living in Vivian, Lyman Co., SD with his wife, Addie b. 1902 SD, and children, Clayton, 19, Shirley, 11, Caroline, 9, and Harold, 7.

Also, in the 1940 census I find son, Ward, living in Glencross, Dewey Co., SD with his wife, Ruth, her mother - Jane M. Kirk b. 1883 MO - and their dau., Betty Jane, 2.

However, in the 1940 census, John Henry - now going by Henry - is living in El Monte, LA Co., CA along with his wife, Wilma b. 1908 SD, daughters, Laura b. 1929 SD, and Anna b. 1931 CA.
